I Kissed Dating Goodbye
By Joshua Harris
see related

Been reading this book from Josh Harris, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, and i think it is one good book, brilliantly written just for me. I didnt realise that my point of view about relationships was so out of another world, to put it my way, but now i have a better view, even if it is just a small one, but i can say that i can look at girls differently, and i have been convicted about a lot of things.

I love making friends, but i am so shy sometimes and also in my own world that people most of the time think that i am weird, but that hasnt stoped me from making friends. There is just one thing that i need to work at, that is the fact that i have been so selfish in my friendships, i wanted everyone to give me the attention, be there for me, me me me me, but it doesnt work like that. I have lost lots of friends like that, one which i regret so much, i blame everything on me, it is just so hard to let people go.

Well, i am about to read his other book, Boy meets Girls, about courting. I ask myself why am i reading this books? I think i have a obligation to prepare myself for the person that i might meet in the future, it might not happen tomorrow or in this year, but atleast i will be able to have a better idea how to treat that person and most importantly to let god into my affairs.

Times are hard, but life goes on. Everyone changes, just look back thru the ages. Who will dare to take a chance on me, Who do i take a chance on. We all make mistakes, but dare to seize the day, seize the moment, Carpe Diem.

Was watching Dead Poets Society last night, really good movie. Dare to be different, dare to think for yourself. Dont go with the flow, free your mind and be free from conformity. We are all unique in our own ways, the way we think, do things, talk, love, live etc etc. Be The Blessing You Are, and know that you are a blessings, maybe not to yourself, or to me or your family, but you are a blessings to life indeed, because without you, people would not be the same. Your special, your a star, your a king or a queen, live like it, and remember, your a child of God, He Loves YOU just the way you are.

AMEN

African Poverty

The first question I have, Is africa really poor?

Well, just a few pictures, it is not enough thou, but I have to say seeing some of Africa makes me believe that Africa is not poor, but they dont know how to use the resources given to them by GOD. Some of them get taught, but then instead of teaching others they use it for their own gain, which isnt bad, but think about it, there are how many Africans that still doesnt know how to use the resources? Corruption is one evil that contributes to the poverty. If were had leaders that was not corrupt or greedy, thinking of how they can benefit themselfs, instead of the people, then that might help Africa too. I think if we tackle corruption, instead of poverty, because poverty is also a choice, an attitude. You choose to be poor too, dont get me wrong, there are factors that we should not forget, but if you cant manage your money, that contributes too, instead of saving you go out and buy alcohol and drink yourself to death, that wont work at all. That is what is going on in most of Africa. If fathers would just get up and start being fathers and stop the foolishness, the adultery, the abuse, etc etc. Who is there to follow? who do we look up to? If the emerging generation that God chose isnt up to the challenge, what then? Who is going to stand up against corruption? We need leaders that will start serving, polititions should not be chosen if they cant serve, if they dont stick to they promises. What does the bible say about leadership? there are certain things that a leader in the church should have. Lets look at some.

1Ti 3:1 This is a true saying, A man desiring the position of a Bishop has a desire for a good work.

1Ti 3:2 The Bishop, then, is to be a man of good name, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, serious-minded, having respect for order, opening his house freely to guests, a ready teacher;

1Ti 3:3 Not quickly moved to wrath or blows, but gentle; no fighter, no lover of money;

1Ti 3:4 Ruling his house well, having his children under control with all serious behaviour;

1Ti 3:5 For if a man has not the art of ruling his house, how will he take care of the church of God?

1Ti 3:6 Not one newly taken into the church, for fear that, through his high opinion of himself, he may come into the same sin as the Evil One.

1Ti 3:7 And he is to have a good name among those outside the church, so that nothing may be said against him and he may not be taken by the designs of the Evil One.

1Ti 3:8 Deacons, in the same way, are to be serious in their behaviour, not false in word, not given to taking much wine or greatly desiring the wealth of this world;

1Ti 3:9 Keeping the secret of the faith in a heart free from sin.

1Ti 3:10 And let these first be put to the test; then let them become Deacons if there is nothing against them.

1Ti 3:11 Women are to be serious in behaviour, saying no evil of others, controlling themselves, true in all things.

1Ti 3:12 Let Deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their houses well.

1Ti 3:13 For those who have done good work as Deacons get for themselves a good position and become free from fear in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

1Ti 3:14 I am writing these things to you, though I am hoping to come to you before long;

1Ti 3:15 But if I am long in coming, this will make clear to you what behaviour is right for men in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and base of what is true.

1Ti 3:16 And without argument, great is the secret of religion: He who was seen in the flesh, who was given God's approval in the spirit, was seen by the angels, of whom the good news was given among the nations, in whom the world had faith, who was taken up in glory.

Well, nicely put. Even though it is Bishop, Deacon. It is the same thing, they are the leaders, the government. Let us teach our children, so they can teach their children how to choose a leader, but first, they should know how to choose Jesus, the leader of all, the King of kings, Lord of lords, Ruler of all rulers.

Communists targets the schools, why? So they can teach their ways to children, starting at the young ones. Satan does the same, he starts with the small once, teaching them. How you ask? Through you and me and everyone out there. Telling them this is the way, do it like that. See your mom and dad, do it like them, see your brothers and sisters, do it like them, see the people across the road, do it like them, see your teachers, do it like them, see you friends, do it like them. The world is blind to the things of God, but they see clearly the things of Man. Satan has taken over this world, but God is telling you and me to take it back, it belongs to us.

So, i dont know if i answered your questions, but this is what is think. Africa is RICH. Look at all the natural resources, oil, diamonds, gold, just to name a few. There is almost every resource you can think of in Africa. It is the people that needs saving, teaching, Jesus. They need to learn how to work together, stop being greedy, selfish and power hungry. If there could be just one African leader that will rise and speak against corruption, that will tackle the bull by the horns and start with the roots and get rid of the corruption plague, that indeed will save Africa, but i have to say, it is the people of Africa that needs to look at themselves and realize how they are destroying our continent, stand up and do something about it. There will always be someone that need help, that will be poor. Instead of giving them money to spend on alcohol, send them to school. Here is a story i was told by someone.

One day a man went around begging, he asked for food from people. Some gave him something to eat and some just ignored him. The man was perfectly healthy, fit and strong. On one occation, while he was still begging, a man walked past. Dressed smartly the begger thought, here is a man with money. He went up to him and asked for some food or just money to buy food. The man looked at him and told him to meet him by the river in an hour. Puzzled and confused, he decided to go down to the river instead, maybe, just maybe, this will be his lucky day. The man met him at the river just like he said. Instead of having food or money in his hands, he had a fishing rod and bait and everything you need to have when you go fishing. But he only had enough for himself. He told the begger what to do. He showed him how to look for bait, how to get everything set. he brought extra fish line, because he had only one fishing rod, but told the begger to get a really strrong branch. The guy got one. 'Now', the man said, 'show me what is just told you'. The begger had to do everything the man told him. Was ready and they went fishing. He caught more fish that day, then what he got given food or money for that week. What is the moral of the story? Even thought the way is put it might be lame, lol. The man took the time, lets say, invested the time to teach the begger how to catch his own fish, gave him a tool to use. Lets say, a diploma, so that he can feed himself and maybe, if the begger is smart, get money too.

Babies need to be fed, but at some stage in their lives they will need to be taught how to eat on their own.

Pro 22:6 If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old he will not be turned away from it.

Hope i have said enough to make you think about some of the things we dont becasue we just want to react, not that it is wrong, we need to help one another, but we must have decernment too.

Write back and tell me what you think. Really nice topic to talk about. Can go on for hours, he he he he he.

Im out for now. Peace and God bless, and be the blessing you are.

Romeo

So Natural

On Saturday I worked on a old warship which is docked on the Thames called The HMS Belfast. This ship is huge. I am so use to working with people that doesn't believe in God and that is just out there to make fun of you or question you or to just make you feel unwelcome if you tell them that you are a christian. Unknowingly, I got to work with a manager that is from Ethiopia, Jazz, really nice guy. We made sure everything was good for the night and that we have everything ready and nothing short. The chef for the night was a girl called Emma and the porter was William. Now, we had quite sometime on our hands to just relax and do nothing. I saw Emma reading something and William asked her what it was, her answer was, " Oh, it is Jazz's, he gave it to me", William reply, " Ahh, he talked about sexuality in the canteen the other day". I saw the title of this small booklid, Bridge of Life. Interesting, I thought to myself. I asked if I could look at it. As I page through it, I recognized it as another title, but couldn't get the name at that moment. As I looked through it, Emma said, " Jazz is a real bible basher, DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD!? At which I reply, " Yes...but I am not a bible basher, don't believe in bible bashers". She just looked at me and walked away.

I go over to the kitchen where Emma is getting ready and tell her that I remembered the name, The Four Spiritual Laws, and at that moment Jazz walks by and asks what we are talking about. I explian to him that I knew the booklet as another name, The Four Spiritual Laws. He asked me how I knew about it and I told him that I used it as an evangelism tool. Then it got interesting.  he asked me if I am a christian and I said yes I am. born again. He told me then that he is a born again Christian too, from a Greek Orthodox background. He told me that Ethiopia is not mainly Muslim, but Orthodox and that there are a lot of christians. I remembered then that Philip went to Ethiopia.

Well, to make a long story short, I was just really encouraged by him and realised that there are christians out there, they go through the same things i go through, they must feel that there arent a lot of christians out there, especially in the UK. I had a good night and got to talk to Jazz and he understood what i said.

Mat 7:1 "Stop judging, so that you won't be judged.

Mat 7:2 For with the judgment you use, you will be judged. And with the measure you use, you will be measured.
